FISHING REPORT STATUS
FEBRUARY 5, 2004
New fishing reports are coming soon! With the holidays in December, Boat Shows in January and a little vacation time the beginning of February I have not had much to report on. That’s about to change in a couple weeks so please continue to visit the "Reports Page". In the meantime take a look at a new article added to our "Articles and Advice" Section entitled "Take a kid fishing".
If you’re fishing this time of year the key is flexibility and patience. Look for areas that allow easy transition for the fish to move from deep to shallow water as the water temperature heats up. Mud or dark bottoms warm up first and should be considered when developing your pattern. Slow your retrieve. The cooler water temperature slows everything down. Concentrate on suspended or slow falling baits. Corkeys, Catch 2000s and Texas Trout Killers (rigged with 1/16 oz jig head) are prime baits. Topwaters are also very productive when the conditions are right.
Now is the time to book your 2004 trip(s). All indicators lead to a fantastic fishing season. We look forward to fishing with you.
