Client brings:

  • Texas Fishing License

  • Fly Rod(s)

Most anglers use an 8-weight, however, 6- to 9-weights should be considered depending upon skill level and conditions.

  • Flies

Anything you would like to try! Clousers, Sliders, Crabs, Poppers, Spoon flies all work well. Sizes 6 to 2 are most common. In any case, I will have flies with a proven success record.

  • Reel

A good drag system is recommended. Load it with a floating line and a 10- to 16-pound tapered leader.

  • Polarized Sun Glasses

  • Hat w/ dark brim

  • Rain Gear

Weather can change suddenly and unpredictably.

  • Sunscreen

  • Flats Boots

If you would like to get out of the boat and wade.

  • Camera

You never know what you’ll catch. I have clients who have caught IGFA and Texas State record fish with me.

  • Lunch

If you would like, we can stop and pick up food on the way to launch.

  • Ice chest

Most of my clients practice catch-and-release, but I understand if you want to take fish home to eat. If you do, have an ice-chest available for transport.

Freddy provides:

  • Drinks
  • Ice
  • Flies
  • Tippet
  • Tackle such as rods and reels, if desired
  • Fish cleaning

Unlike many guides, I do not charge extra for fuel. That doesn't mean, however, that I simply choose fishing spots that minimize running time. We will go wherever the fish are. Like I said, "We’ll get ‘er done!"
